Level 1 -

Pharmacological studies in the preclinical development of therapeutic antibodies

Presentation

Why participate?

This training introduces the fundamental principles and key challenges of pharmacology within the context of preclinical studies for therapeutic antibodies.

Training Context:

The preclinical development of a therapeutic antibody involves multiple stages, each with distinct goals: proof of concept, safety evaluation (toxicology), regulatory compliance, and pharmacology assessment.
Pharmacological studies are essential to understand the effects of the biopharmaceutical on the body and to draw appropriate conclusions to move the development forward.

Learning objectives

  • Understand the impact of antibody formats: Learn how different antibody formats influence pharmacological studies
  • Know the in vitro and in vivo models: Explore various pharmacological models and their respective advantages and limitations
  • Develop a common language: Acquire critical insight and the communication tools needed to interact effectively with pharmacology experts (CROs or internal teams)

Teaching methods

Interactive Teaching, Case Studies, Experience Sharing
