Sartorius, MAbSilico join forces to accelerate AI-driven cell line development

Collaboration integrates AI-powered predictive modelling with high-throughput CHO cell line development to identify promising therapeutic candidates earlier, reduce development risks and accelerate progress towards IND submission.

Sartorius and France-based MAbSilico have entered a non-exclusive collaboration combining AI-powered predictive algorithms from MAbSilico with cell line development (CLD) capabilities from Sartorius. Together, they offer an integrated service to assess the developability and manufacturability of therapeutic candidates from sequence design to robust and proven expression systems.

With this comprehensive solution, clients will be able to evaluate biophysical and developability profiles in silico before wet-lab screening and validations. This helps identify and eliminate candidates with liabilities such as post-translational modification hotspots, aggregation propensity, and weak target binding that can emerge in later development stages.

The workflow enables early assessment of a large number of sequence variants and generates representative material for evaluating cell growth, titer, and product quality. By accounting for genetic and epigenetic factors through stable integration in a CHO host, it supports a smoother transition toward investigational new drug (IND) submission while reducing development timelines, scalability challenges, and operational risk.

« We are happy and proud to partner with Sartorius, one of the major players in drug development, and to be able to share our AI-based technologies directly with their global client network, » said Vincent Puard, Chief Executive Officer of MAbSilico. « By deploying our services within the standard-setting bioprocessing ecosystem offered by Sartorius, we’re empowering biotech and pharmaceutical companies to speed up the design and engineering of high-potential lead candidates and support successful cell line development using an established platform with a strong regulatory track record. This collaboration represents a natural step in our mission to turn antibody discovery into a predictive, high-velocity engine. »

“Through the collaboration with MAbSilico, Sartorius is expanding its support for biopharmaceutical developers at the lead optimization stage,” said Vanessa Lutz, Head of Cell Line Development at Sartorius. “By combining AI-driven prediction with high-throughput experimental validation, we can identify the most promising candidates earlier, reduce development risk, and help clients reach IND faster.”
