Contracts in biopharmaceutical R&D

Presentation

Why participate?
You want to better understand the different types of contracts that structure research and development activities and the related challenges.
As part of your role, you may be required to review, interpret, or even negotiate contracts related to the company’s R&D activities. However, you may not fully grasp the distinctions or implications between the various contract types. You would like to clarify which type of contract to use in which context and identify the available options and their consequences more effectively.

Training context
From early-stage research to market launch, including preclinical testing, the R&D process leading to the commercialization of a drug involves numerous contractual negotiations — all critical to the company’s successful development.

Learning objectives

  • Identify the different types of contracts according to the chronological stages of biopharmaceutical research and development.
  • Determine the appropriate type(s) of contract based on the specific situation and needs.
  • Explore the strategic clauses in these contracts to better protect the company’s interests.
